The Pen and The Wind

Timmy looked out the window,
And saw darkness in the sky,
Since last night was a full moon,
He didn’t understand why.

Many others wondered the same,
And they would find out soon,
That this was the fateful day,
That aliens abducted the moon.

We think they only abduct small things,
Like cows, squirrels, and Bob,
But we try not to think about it much,
After all, abducting is their job.

But the moon is the final straw,
They pushed us way too far,
So we gathered our nation’s armies,
To show them how strong we are.

In the midst of this confusion,
The aliens sent an ambassador down,
To help settle this muddled mess,
And give a smile instead of frown.

We asked why did he take it,
The moon we so rightfully own,
He looked at us and explained it raised,
The resale value of his home.

He then got back on his ship and left,
And the tale would be spread soon,
About the fateful day,
That aliens abducted the moon.
